Walking through Venice, you came across a cheerful young man, around your age. The only reason you noticed him at all is his cat calls. Yeah, these things happen all the time in Italy, perverts are even more frequent than pick-pockets, but the reason he stood out was because he wasn’t some old, washed up man.
“Bella, bella!!! What brings a lovely girl like you around here?” He chirped. The question came as a surprise, because till that moment, you weren’t sure what you were doing.
“Just walking around, I guess,” You lamely stated. At that moment, you noticed the unfamiliar twisting streets, and dimly lit hallways. Huh, how did you manage to get your self this far, without noticing how lost you were?
“Bella, this is not the sort of place for someone new to Italia….” He trailed off, voice becoming serious. “Could I, by any chance, walk you home? Late nights are not to be spent on the streets, but the sheets.” He chuckled, “But in all seriousness, do you know your way back?”
You took a moment to ponder this. Do I know my way back? Hmmm…. looking around confirmed just how lost you were, and lead you to make the decision. “No, I have no clue how to get back. Could you point me in the direction of (Hotel Name)? My friend (f/n) must’ve notice I’m gone by now.” You say this with a smile, and the man beside you perks up.
On the way there, you listen to stories of the country, which areas are a must see, where to get delicious, inexpensive Gelato, and various stories of your companion, Feliciano Vargas’, older, more aggressive brother. You also told stories of your travels, the scenery back home, friends, tastes in food, why you were out so late, and what you like most about the country.
Arriving at the hotel, he gives you a simple business card, saying that if you were in need of a group member, to call, and he would be there. Smiling, thanking him, and promising to call, you walk into the lavish lounge of the hotel.
On the first trip to Italy, you made an amazing friend, and you’ve been coming back ever since.
